The Renaissance is upon us

The Renaissance is upon us

Let's start with a little history lesson about our future shall we?

Here is the generally accepted meaning of that thing called "The Renaissance" and taken from Wikipedia.

Because like with each and every word of which we assume we mean the same thing but don't , there is always the need to disambiguate the various meanings of it. Some people think of another renaissance when they hear the word renaissance, but today we are going to talk about this specific one....

And not that other one from a few hundred years before that, which was just the roman empire collapsing in cannibalism... marked by self-created plagues, inflation and heavy metal poisoning that was used to gather the flock into new gothic churches.

Renaissance of the 12th century - Wikipedia

We don't want to talk about this "renaissance" because it wasn't one , and the titular picture and it's description perfectly describes why that is for instance.

Because... None of that was "New technology" ... It was actually a watered down and dumber version of technology that was common knowledge a 1000 years before that. But then used differently. It was turned into magic again after the darkest of times called the middle ages.

While the church dominated feudal states of serv slavery were finally capable of building an arch and something more stylish than a square tower for war... A thousand years before that, the Romans built the Pantheon with self-healing concrete that still stands 2000 years later because of advanced organic chemistry.

The romans even had concrete that hardens under water for instance, another great feat of multi-science innovation that the "Fake renaissance" never even came close too.

(Remember that though... Remember that really well... )

So let's get back to what we DO want to talk about today.

The renaissance we face today.

And here's the "Jist" of that article.

"
The Renaissance (UK: /rɪˈneɪsəns/ rin-AY-sənss, US: /ˈrɛnəsɑːns/ ⓘ REN-ə-sahnss)[1][2][a] is a period of history and a European cultural movement covering the 15th and 16th centuries. It marked the transition from the Middle Ages to modernity and was characterized by an effort to revive and surpass the ideas and achievements of classical antiquity. Associated with great social change in most fields and disciplines, including art, architecture, politics, literature, exploration and science, the Renaissance was first centered in the Republic of Florence, then spread to the rest of Italy and later throughout Europe. The term rinascita ("rebirth") first appeared in Lives of the Artists (c. 1550) by Giorgio Vasari, while the corresponding French word renaissance was adopted into English as the term for this period during the 1830s.

The Renaissance's intellectual basis was founded in its version of humanism, derived from the concept of Roman humanitas and the rediscovery of classical Greek philosophy, such as that of Protagoras, who said that "man is the measure of all things". Although the invention of metal movable type sped the dissemination of ideas from the later 15th century, the changes of the Renaissance were not uniform across Europe: the first traces appear in Italy as early as the late 13th century, in particular with the writings of Dante and the paintings of Giotto.

As a cultural movement, the Renaissance encompassed innovative flowering of literary Latin and an explosion of vernacular literatures, beginning with the 14th-century resurgence of learning based on classical sources, which contemporaries credited to Petrarch; the development of linear perspective and other techniques of rendering a more natural reality in painting; and gradual but widespread educational reform. It saw myriad artistic developments and contributions from such polymaths as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, who inspired the term "Renaissance man".[5][6] In politics, the Renaissance contributed to the development of the customs and conventions of diplomacy, and in science to an increased reliance on observation and inductive reasoning. The period also saw revolutions in other intellectual and social scientific pursuits, as well as the introduction of modern banking and the field of accounting.
