P.R.O.T.E.A.N.: The first organization designed to die

There is a general process that applies to all... but it's different than what you're used too.

This is a series of articles about a concept called P.R.O.T.E.A.N.

It doesnt really need a name… Since it’s also about escaping labels and limitations that serve no other purpose than to limit escape possibilities through labels for the sake of “safety”.

Which is a really dangerous paradigm that also has no real name that applies everywhere all the time.

But let’s continue as if you’ve fully grasped what would happen in an environment in which proteans live to maturity , go through old age and die. Which is a very important aspect of this…
A protean organization is constantly trying to make itself obsolete and that’s a really good thing. A necessary thing, since it’s just an agreement in the end. It’s not really there , and it has no reason to live except for the reason we keep it alive.

And that is a certain way of looking at things that will help anyone also see the need for it, if you would only want too.
If you would only be capable of still critically observing the hopes and dreams you have pinned on which things and why.

We’ll dive a bit into the legalities of a protean organization today.
This to try and show you how limited your capacity for solutions has become , because all you seem to have learned are imagined outcomes that are already forgotten by the time they come to pass, which is how you keep looping around in those fantasies while obviously observing they aren't helping things.

Every government has organized it’s internal economy by creating a set of “designs” for a thing called “legal entities”.
And everywhere, it’s become perfectly acceptable that a “legal entity” which does not really exist, has more rights than a single human could ever be given in their own system of law.

A “legal entity” has an incredible leeway and freedom when it comes to all things fiscal, yet at the same time they are considered guilty until proven innocent about everything they do.
It’s quite a maddening situation really. If a legal entity would have a mind… it would go insane due to continuous psychological and physical abuse quite rapidly.

And add to that, that most legal entities cannot define their reason for existence beyond… “I need to gather more imaginary numbers and reality and the consequences of our actions out there in reality are a sideshow to be ignored in the pursuit of those imaginary numbers” .
That state of mind is even considered “good business” today.

And then you might think… aaah… but that’s why we have things like NGO’s, and non-profit's and stuff.
But when you look at the behavior from any measurable standpoint, they are absolutely and completely the same.

All metrics when it comes to measuring a commercial for profit entity , and all conclusions to draw about their behavior in the last 100 years… are all also perfectly visible in literally every type of legal entity that exists.

Even the NGO’s and non-profit’s can’t define their reason for existence anymore beyond “I need to gather more imaginary numbers and reality and the consequences of our actions out there in reality are a sideshow to be ignored in the pursuit of those imaginary numbers”.
But then they add something too it and also say “But at least we’re gathering this illusionary number to then go and do good with it”… The “effective altruism pitch” basically.

Without any shame they can say “It’s ok that we use manipulative sales and employment tactics for fundraising… effectively using the good intentions of volunteers and uninformed random saps on the street to extort their funds through guilt”.. because we are going to do better things with it… otherwise that sap was going to use those funds on an ice-cream…

Which we happen to give him for free whenever we can extort funds… but those saps should know better and that’s why we need to keep existing and keep doing this. (Yup… I literally heard one of them saying that to me while he was being in charge for literally the largest charity organization of a certain West-european country)

But their discourse doesn't hold up to any scrutiny does it? It makes no logical sense, and it definitely doesn't make any ethical or moral sense at all.

And those magical results they keep claiming? Never ever happened… drops on a hot plate… fighting windmills… being busy with failing consistently.

It would make sense if it never existed before, or if it has been proven to work on obvious and massive scales. Yet there is not a single occurrence of that paradigm ever producing the results it promises.
No matter how big, no matter how well “scienced” or how well explained. It simply doesn't work either.
Just like the madness of creating an entire series of criminally motivated organizations with the illusion that “controlling” that group will amount to anything positive… ever.

And the solution to it is simple. Create organizations that work on a different external communication paradigm, and also a very different internal communication paradigm.

And it’s all about the “secrets”, and who gets to “keep” them and why that needs to change here.

Another thing that seriously needs to change is the confusing of a person , their role and their function over time. Because when you fix any of those combination as a goal in itself… it will be a logical insanity which only leads to worse.

Just like all organizations in the current paradigm tend to atrophy into “We’re just trying to keep existing in the way we existed yesterday” and since we have existed , and people are allowing us to exist… that means we MUST exist this way… and don’t ask me to explain that in any kind of detail because we don’t have time for that since we’re dying fast here see… and we’re doing all that good , so ,we need to keep doing those bad things in a bad way which you really need to ignore immediately since we’ve got surviving to do here!

You’ve heard and seen so much of this madness… and basically nothing else, that most if not all of you have confused your perceptions with reality. Your memories about it with potential possibilities.

Your identity with the role you need to perform in that madness. And that is something we need to escape. Urgently. And you can all feel it.

An example of this , is that apparently you can’t seem to come up with the simple logic that we don’t need persmission to create a legally binding framework and concept for a protean organization.
No one is really stopping that legally, since there is still an incredible freedom in how you state the internal bylaws of your organization.

Sure , there are plenty of guidelines and obligations that you need to adhere too, but those are all about responsibility and ownership of the organization in question.

And in those “founding principles” of founding a new legal entity… you could easily drop all the examples of the past, and start completely bottom up again so that all agreements within the protean organization follow a different direction when it comes to deciding what to do, what not to do , and how to do it.

We’ve got about 10 versions of these different founding principles which would have a recursive impact on all the behavior of all contributors and benefactors of that organization.

And just for fun… and to make you try and think about this in a fun way…

I give you… The Protean laws of organization.

Inspired by one of my most favorite Sci-Fi writers of all time… Azimov. And don’t forget that he wrote the original concept of these rules about a thing called robots. Which… lets face it… is what business organizations are, aren't they?

But it’s a bit more complicated than just 4 lines of code , so we’re be expanding on it.

(And this is an important distinction by the way… Everybody thinks that Azimov only stated 3 laws of robotics, but his entire oeuvre evolved and he added a large, underlying Zero-th law to those three and then wrote copious amounts of stories to try and show his writers why it’s so important to never forget that zero concept… and it’s also super funny to observe that it’s exactly that part of his work which is almost never mentioned by anyone. Think about that too)

Anyways… here we go. The organic communication paradigm , combined with the protean laws of organization.

The distinction of the 3 communication layers are primordial. Since nothing is assumed to be the same when going to one of the other layers. (Some things might be , but never assume that)

Intra-protean : communication between actors (human and/or not) within the protean organization. (every use of a tool that is also inside the organization by someone inside the organization, is also communication. And all communication has an outcome , even when ignored. Since then that is the outcome… being ignored. Which is also an action with an outcome and also just communication)

Inter-protean : Communication between Protean organizations themselves. Usually, but not exclusively performed by tools and/or actors within separate protean organizations.

Extra-protean : Communication with something outside the protean organization, that isn’t a protean organization. Literally everything else not in the other 2 layers defined.

And each of these layers have nuances and differences in their “Laws” about “behavior and communication” … for which we have a much simpler word to use actually… an algorithm. (But there are many other words for that too)

Pay special attention to each word used… since roles, and individuals and functions and contributor etc… Those aren’t all just the same things. They are all deeply and clearly defined concepts of types of communication.


INTRA-P.R.O.T.E.A.N. Laws of organization

• Total transparency protocols
• Real-time "lie detection" in comms
• No permanent hierarchy
• Annual necrosis impact assessment tied to role reset
• Collective veto power over any community-harming initiative
• Resource flow sensors in accounting systems
• Real-time "metabolic rate" dashboards
• Automated role sunset clauses
• The "Book of Regrets" as ethical immune memory
• Embedded "cancer scan" algorithms
• Dead-man switch requiring annual renewal votes

Intra-Protean-Law 0

A P.R.O.T.E.A.N. organization must not harm the regenerative potential of its host community, or by inaction, allow that potential to degrade.

Intra-Protean-Law 1

A P.R.O.T.E.A.N. role must not harm another contributor, or through inaction, allow harm to come to any contributor’s capacity to learn, grow, or contribute as long as doing so does not conflict with the higher law 0.

Intra-Protean-Law 2

A P.R.O.T.E.A.N. role must fulfill its defined function as agreed upon by the collective, except where such fulfillment would conflict with the First or Zeroth Law.

Intra-Protean-Law 3

A P.R.O.T.E.A.N. role must preserve its own integrity and clarity of purpose, as long as doing so does not conflict with the higher laws.

INTER-P.R.O.T.E.A.N. Laws of organization

• Shared anti-necrosis APIs
• Mutual "Book of Regrets" auditing
• Conflict resolution as error-correction

Intra-Protean-Law 0

A P.R.O.T.E.A.N. network must not harm the evolutionary trajectory of the ecosystem of Protean organizations, or by inaction, allow systemic necrosis to spread.

Intra-Protean-Law 1

A P.R.O.T.E.A.N. organization must not interfere with the autonomy of another Protean, unless that organization is demonstrably violating its own regenerative principles.

Intra-Protean-Law 2

A P.R.O.T.E.A.N. organization must collaborate with other Proteans when doing so increases regenerative outcomes, except where such collaboration would violate the First or Zeroth Law.

Intra-Protean-Law 3

A P.R.O.T.E.A.N. organization must maintain its own operational coherence and identity, as long as doing so does not conflict with the higher laws.

EXTRA-P.R.O.T.E.A.N. Laws of organization

• Heterogeneous comms interfaces
• Value transfusion not extraction
• "Skin-in-the-game" accountability

Intra-Protean-Law 0

A P.R.O.T.E.A.N. must not contribute to systemic necrosis in the broader society, or by inaction, allow extractive systems to dominate regenerative ones

Intra-Protean-Law 1

A P.R.O.T.E.A.N. must not harm any citizen or community it operates within, or through inaction, allow harm to persist when it has the capacity to intervene regeneratively.

Intra-Protean-Law 2

A P.R.O.T.E.A.N. must comply with local laws and customs, except where such compliance would conflict with the First or Zeroth Law.

Intra-Protean-Law 3

A P.R.O.T.E.A.N. must protect its own ability to function and evolve, as long as doing so does not conflict with the higher laws.


Just imagine an organization where each action is continuously checked on all these things at the same time.

And then you might think that this organization would be stuck in indecisiveness? Far from the opposite..

It will continuously find good things to do, since it will quickly identify the nearest necrosis and how to feed of it while leaving something better behind while on it’s way to become obsolete and self-destructing.

But everything it leaves behind will immediately be used by the next generation of itself which it has created by that time.
Proteans live to reproduce a better version of itself while adapting to the circumstances in it’s own life, and creating the best possible future for it’s offspring.

Compared to the current “designs” , that’s better in all ways , all the time. And that’s just scientifically proven in all fields of science too.

And religions say this too… and a lot of political theories claim this too… yet none of them seem to want to explain how to actually do it. And that’s what protean organizations are actually ;)

Sure… this doesn't sound “legal” to you? Yet… If you put it in the founding principles of your organization… then it is. There is freedom in how to define the behavior of your organization and how to guard it.

The sad thing is… today you keep thinking in that box of possibilities given to you by a prison guard.
But there are no walls except the ones you have built in your mind… based on the examples given and the results you have seen so far.

And that way of doing this , is literally against evolution. And that’s just pure logic.
